How to query dates using Day-Month-Year using local SQL

How do I query a Paradox or dBASE table using Day-Month-Year instead of Month-Day-Year?

The local SQL engine uses the separator to decide the format of a date. A / is interpreted as M/D/Y. A . is interpreted as D.M.Y. Examples: / /99 is November , 999. . .99 is January , 999.
