 Using escape codes with the format() function

I want to insert escape codes when using the Format() function. I'm trying to create a tab-delimited string. In "C" I could do something like sprintf(buffer, "%s\t%s", str);. How might I accomplish this in Pascal?

    The Pascal Format function does not use escape codes. Instead, you should insert the actual characters into the string using their ASCII representations: Note that embedded character codes must be placed outside of the quotes. Examples: Buffer := Format('%s'#9'%s', [Str , Str2]); ShowMessage(Format('%s'#9'%s', ['Column ', 'Column2']));
