This is actually a problem with some Dell machines. The problem is associated with Dell Pentium Pro machines with NT 4.0 pre-installed. There is a setting in the registry that is modified so that Dell can load up an explorer extension. Workaround: Run Regedit Modify the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\Shell Originally this will say: Explorer.exe userhook. Modify the key to say: Explorer.exe Reboot the machine This is documented on InstallShield's website and it is not a problem in the IB install.
