I was working on a project, and shut down Delphi/C++ Builder after saving the project. Now Delphi/C++ Builder will not start up. What should I do?
Check to make sure the path to the project (including file names) did not contain any unusual characters (such as a comma). If you find that the path did contain an unusual character, use regedit.exe to edit the keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Borland/C++Builder/ .0/ClosedProjects
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Borland/C++Builder/ .0/Closed Files
or if you were running Delphi go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Borland/Delphi/2.0/ClosedProjects
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Borland/Delphi/2.0/Closed Files
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Borland/Delphi/2.0/ClosedProjects
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Borland/Delphi/2.0/Closed Files
and modify the paths containing the unusual characters. You can replace the offending characters with any usual character. Shut down RegEdit, and Delphi/C++ Builder should now start.
