Oracle 8 and returning the REF CURSOR from a stored procedure

Using Delphi 4 (w/BDE 5) with the Oracle 8.0.4 client and the Oracle 8 SQL Link driver, I am trying to execute a stored procedure that returns a REF CURSOR type. No matter what I seem to try I get the error "General SQL error ORA-0 036: illegal variable name/number" when I try to execute the procedure. What am I doing wrong?

When using BDE 5.0 there is a known problem with returning a REF CURSOR type from a stored procedure when using the Oracle 8 SQL Link Driver (in BDE 5.0). BDE 5.0 or later resolves the problem.
