Computer freezes when Delphi is started under Windows 98

My system freezes when I start Delphi ? I don't even see the splash screen. How can I fix this?

Delphi 4 will not run on Windows 98 if the display is set to 6 colors or less. This may cause the system to freeze during installation also.

This can be fixed by changing the display color palette. Go to Control Panel/Display/Settings/, change the color palette setting to something greater than 6 color, such as 256 color, High Color ( 6-bit) or True Color (32-bit). If you do not have these options you may need to update your video driver. 4/ /99 3:23:40 PM
